Divisions

Juniors

The Juniors Baseball Division is intended for league-age 13 to 16-year-old boys whose goals are to improve their skills in preparation for high school baseball.  The Juniors division plays on a full-sized 90-foot base-path diamond (as compared to a 60-foot distance between bases in the Majors division).  Consequently the Juniors division is where the transition to "adult" baseball rules occurs (e.g., base-runners' ability to lead off bases).  The Juniors division also offers post season tournament play in the Spring.

Majors

The Majors Baseball Division is intended for league-age 9 to 12-year-old boys that are expected to make a greater commitment to baseball.  A typical Spring season weekday schedule includes two games, plus one or two practices.  Players are drafted onto Majors teams after player evaluations each Spring, and are expected to play on that team for the remainder of their Majors division age eligibility.  The Majors division also offers opportunities for post-season play in the Spring: a "Top Team" tournament for the top CPLL Majors team; and All-Star tournaments for both the 9/10-year olds and the 11/12-year olds.

Minors

The Minors Baseball Division is intended for league-age 8 to 12-year-old boys that understand the basic rules of the game and are ready to bat against player pitching.  The "Minor League" serves as a player pool from which eligible players (9-year-olds and older) are drafted into the Majors division each Spring.  Although there is no organized post-season play, the Minors offer a full schedule of games and opportunity for players to get experience in a variety of fielding positions.  Like the Majors division, the fall season is typically operated as an instructional league designed to improve on players' skills.

Rookies

The Rookies Baseball Division is intended for league-age 6, 7, and 8-year old boys and girls that are ready to advance from Tee-Ball.  The basic rules of the game are taught in the Rookies.  Coaches pitch to batters during games and players are introduced to fielding positions.  The goal of the Rookies division is to develop players' fundamental skills and introduce the notion of teamwork.

T-Ball

The T-Ball Division is intended to introduce the game of baseball to our youngest boys and girls (league-age 5, 6, and 7-year olds).  The goals of T-Ball are to develop basic throwing, catching, and batting skills, and to prepare players for the Rookies division.  Batting is taught off of a "Tee," with all players getting to bat in each inning.  Keeping score during games is optional.
